  • Graphika Manila 2007 - Uninspiring

    Graphika Manila 2007

    So I went to this year’s Graphika Manila with high expectations. With an entrance fee that was twice as expensive as a UAAP 2007 ticket (I got mine at 750 pesos … early bird rate) I got the feeling that I was going to be the part of something really big.

    Emo? Emocore? Screamo? WTF??!

    As a lover of all kinds of I am constantly surprised every time a new musical genre pops up. The amount of talent and creativity people have seem to hold no bounds. One of the more recent style is this thing called “emo”. So what the heck is it anyway? I think I just found out, though I am not certain I can distinguish it from punk rock, emotional lyrics aside.

  • Are We Designers or Developers?

    Once again, the question is: Are we designers or developers?

    I do it all. However, I generally just market myself as a Graphic Designer because that’s what people look at first and I think the term “Web Designer” is more often than not confused with “Web Developer” by the general population.

    Though personally, I’d rather be called a “Web Guru” if only it doesn’t sound a bit self-conceited :)

    Who Is Hosting This?

    Looking up the hosting company of a domain/website can be a hassle, and I have always hoped for a one-step tool that allows me to quickly identify who or where a site is being hosted. Enter Who is Hosting This?, a quick, nifty little tool that does exactly that. It’s free to use and free of ads. It even links to the domain your searched for and to the site of the hoster.
