GMail’s IMAP feature: first impressions (screenshots)

GMail logo

I previously blogged about GMail’s support. I was so excited. But after trying it out the excitement died down quickly and I went back to the good old web-based GMail interface.

Here’s the lowdown:

Even the FBI sees the Glorietta 2 blast as an accident

Filipinos clamoring for justice for Glorietta 2 blast victims

    This just in:

National Police chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr on Tuesday said foreign explosives experts who conducted their own investigation into the October 19 blast at Glorietta 2 in Makati City have ruled out any bomb angle behind the incident.

Interviewed on the sidelines of an antiterrorism drill at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, Razon said President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had been briefed on the reports submitted by the explosives experts from Australia, Israel and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“Based on the evidence and the facts that were gathered from the scene…edivence shows that it (blast) was an accidental gas explosion,” Razon told reporters.

So if it was a gas leak, what triggered it? What about the traces of RDX? Can a gas leak really cause such a huge explosion? We need answers!!

I previously blogged about the incident here: Glorietta 2 Bombing (with Videos) and here: A Letter From Carlo Cruz, Glorietta Blast Victim

Billion Dollar Wiki apparently “sold” for $1 billion

Billion Dollar Wiki, a site that started last October 11, has apparently been “sold” for $1 billion to the Chinese. At least I got to laugh for five seconds.

I’ve just returned from Beijing, where after days of negotiations, I have sold Billion Dollar Wiki for $1 billion - and yes, I’m talking about US dollars.

I have already received a deposit of $100 million, so I know these guys are legitimate.

Let me guess. This “business plan” is similar, if not exactly like, the Million Dollar Wiki. Duh.

  • Testing Twitter for Wordpress using Twitter Updater

I’m now using Twitter Updater by Victoria Chan

Okay I had to edit the Plugin to get it to work. Here is what I did:

    • Go to your Twitter Updater options, and enter your username in ‘Your Twitter account details’ where it asks you for your email address.
    • Go to edit the file called wp-content/plugins/twitter_updater/twitter_updater.php and find ‘function vc_doTwitterAPIPost’. Change that function entirely to the below.

Microsoft does not quite value Facebook at $15 billion

An interesting take on Microsoft’s recent purchase of 1.6% of Facebook.

    FTA:

Microsoft doesn’t value Facebook at $15 billion. It values 1.6% of Facebook and an expanded and extended ad deal at $240 million. That’s it. You can’t ignore the ad deal and magically come to a $15 billion valuation.
