A day in the life of an audio visual junkie

I have recently finished reading Dan Brown’s famous novel Angels and Demons, and as a result, I have stumbled upon the official website of the famed ambigram designer, John Langdon. Incidentally, he is the real person from whom the lead character, Robert Langdon was named after.
Inspired by this style of design, I came up with my own ambigram in one of my logo design projects. The logo below is supposed to read “La Neke”. As you can see, it is still in its conceptualization stage, which starts with a sketch.

I never imagined this would happen, but after close to 6 months of being offline, bittorrent site Demonoid.com has risen from the ashes. The note on its front page says:
Welcome back!
A few months ago, the site administrator (known as Deimos), lacked the time necessary to maintain this website. And for personal reasons, Deimos decided to resign his position as a member of the site staff.
Before leaving, Deimos picked a new site administrator from among his friends. The old moderator team remained unchanged and will continue helping with the site. The Demoniod team will try to keep everything running just as it always has been.
The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible. If we work on any problems over the next few days, the site might be going on and offline. We apologize in advance if this should happen.
Welcome back and enjoy!

I love this new song! I had to search high and low for this, and I’m sharing it with everyone. UDD rules
Get it here.
Listen to it here:
Lyrics:
FLOAT AWAY
Up Dharma Down
McDonald’s Summer Colors of Love
Unusual yet so familiar
Surprising face I’ve never seen such glow
There is not one minute of refraction
You are my positive distraction
Level headedness versus heady bliss
What would you choose
Unbelievably, this feels so good to me
I’ve given myself away now
Taking leaps, clouds at my feet
Love makes you try anything once
Hues are better understood
But this is just a little too good
I am left believing, I thank you now for giving
Me the stars to chase around
There’s no going back
I’ve fallen pretty bad
This is the sound of being found
Taking leaps clouds at my feet
Love makes you try anything once
You and I float away
Tracing the seas
Pa-pa-ra-pa-pa… Love Ko ‘To

So the other day something interesting happened. My car was unavailable because of number coding so I had to commute. I was on my way home at around 11:30 midnight and I felt the urge to buy a hotdog sandwich from a nearby 7-11 store at Gil Puyat Ave. I wasn’t even hungry, and I was sure of it, but I just had to purchase a hotdog sandwich. I even thought of the price. Thirty plus bucks for a hotdog sandwich and a regular drink.
So I bought it and after putting on the dressing and ketchup, I was on my way. I caught a jeepney to Guadalupe. When I got on, I immediately noticed the person seated beside me. He was at the very end of the jeepney. He was dressed in rags and appeared very dirty. My initial reaction was to move away, and I immediately felt guilty for even thinking about it.
It was then that out of the blue, it dawned upon me that maybe there was a reason behind me buying a hotdog sandwich, despite not feeling hungry. I looked at the man beside me. He is very thin and dirty. I gave him my half-eaten hotdog sandwich and coke. I hope he appreciated it. When we reached Buendia he alighted. I felt good.

Some people have too much time on their hands, and stiLLWD is one of them. He does a very good job at making a point though: Kyla may be the definitive “semplang” (flop) queen of the Philippines.
Have fun with the videos!

A lot of people ask me why I choose to stay in the Philippines instead of going abroad to earn a bigger salary. I never really had a straight answer to that question. Most of the time I would just say that I prefer staying in the Philippines, or that going abroad is a sign of weakness, and sometimes I even say that I’d rather stay here and help my country men. After receiving the below e-mail I got to thinking that maybe, just maybe, it might be my love for the country …
MY SHORT ESSAY ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES
Jaeyoun Kim
Filipinos always complain about the corruption in the Philippines . Do you really think the corruption
is the problem of the Philippines ? I do not think so. I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines .
Let me first talk about my country, Korea . It might help you understand my point.
After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. Koreans
had to start from scratch because entire country was destroyed after the Korean War, and we had no
natural resources.
Koreans used to talk about the Philippines , for Filipinos were very rich in Asia . We envy Filipinos.
Koreans really wanted to be well off like Filipinos. Many Koreans died of famine.
My father & brother also died because of famine. Korean government was very corrupt and is still very
corrupt beyond your imagination, but Korea was able to develop dramatically because Koreans really
did their best for the common good with their heart burning with patriotism.
