It seems that Google wants a piece of the VR (virtual reality) revenue pie oh so famously milked to its bare skin and bones by Second Life, by introducing the new Google Lively (beta, of course!)

From the website meta-description:

Chat and hangout with your friends in rooms you design and customize your avatar. Experience another dimension of the web with Lively by Google.

Lively’s features include the following:

• Create your own virtual space

  Chat and interact with your friends in rooms you design

• Express yourself

  Customize your avatar and stream personal photos and video

• Add your room to your site

  Invite your friends to chat and help decorate

Google may have has also embraced the popular torrent based distribution method by providing a 450kb download, which is what I believe to be a torrent downloader. Note that this is just my unconfirmed hunch. After all, the mighty Google has all the bandwidth in the world to spare, and then some.

Of course, creating an account is easy as 1-2-3. If you already have a GMail account, all you have to do is sign in to the Google Lively website and it’s activated.

High resolution photos of the Nissan GT-R. While it looks awesome, the front design reminds me too much of the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Bugatti Veyron.

Those who frequent this site may have noticed that I did a little cleanup in the categories list. I had some difficulty searching for a tool to merge categories. Entering “Wordpress merge category” did not give me the results I was looking for, and for a while I contemplated writing my own. Halfway through studying how to do this I decided to give it one more shot and luckily landed on this website, containing the Extended Categories Manager plugin for WordPress. I was saved.

Installing went without a snitch. Dropped the file into the plugins folder and I was ready to go. I only needed the Merge Categories feature, so I did not fiddle with the “Quick Edit Category” area. I assume this allows you to rename and change the alias of a category.

If you’re looking a tool to merge categories in WordPress, this tool is all you’ll ever need.

I wasn’t even planning to post about Britney’s latest album but since she mentions the Philippines I guess I’ll return the favor.

In her latest album entitled “Blackout”, Britney Spears mentions the Philippines as part of the refrain of her track entitled “Piece of Me”. It’s track #2 of the album, right after “Gimme More” so it’s not hard to miss.

Since having parted ways with Maritt Larsen from their M2M days, Marion Raven has released mediocre albums at best. With this, her image has also evolved and her more recent photos sohw her getting into more goth / punk-inspired outfits. One of her newer singles, “Break You”, sounds very much like something straight out of Avril Lavigne’s albums. It’s still an awesome single, and has a catchy beat to it.
