Be the best, aim for the best.
Do not settle for anything less.

Mag-aral maigi. Kung titigil ka sa pag-aaral, manghihinayang ka pagtanda mo dahil hindi mo naranasan ang kakaibang ligayang dulot ng mga araw na walang pasok o suspendido ang klase o absent ang teacher. (Haaay, sarap!).

According to Ted Chiang, “Hell is the absence of God”.
According to me, Hell is the conscious denial of God’s presence. For God is everywhere, and without Him there will be no Hell.
Man’s own personal Hell on earth, however, is one’s existence denied by a loved one.
Jesus was put on the cross. Yet, He never denied anybody.
The point is, Hell is man-made.

Drink
But only with the right company.
Smoke
But only the good stuff.
Gamble
But only what you can afford to loose.
Dive. Plunge. Risk.
But always, always, always
Remember to quit while you still can.

I never strive to be better than anybody but myself.
There will always be someone out there better than me,
But against myself I will always be the best.

Anything worth living for is worth dying for.
But what is worth living for?
That which only death can make eternal.

A follow-up to The Perfect Job: A Philosophical Discourse

If I could be reborn with all the power of the Internet by my side, I wonder what that would have made me out to be? Humans are such awesome creatures. We just keep getting better and better.

The perfect job for me is one where I get compensated for anything that I choose to do consciously in my own time.
This means getting compensated for writing an essay on my idea of a perfect job, for taking a hike or climbing a mountain, or for cooking my own food tonight. Wouldn’t it be great if someone out there were willing to give you something in return for being who you are, for simply existing and doing the things you love to do? If I do as much as learn a new sport or gain a new skill, I would be compensated.
But what would the compensation be, and how much? Would it be something tangible, like food or money, or would it be something abstract, like love or fame? How much?
Well, that’s is the problem.
Would getting too little result in unhappiness? Will excessive compensation mean boredom?
That brings us to the issue of employment. The perfect job can only belong to the perfect employer. Now who is this person? Is it a person at all? Is it life? Is it time? Is it be-ing? Is it life? Is it God?
Is it me?
Now that would be a huge problem now wouldn’t it? Because I cannot employ me.
Or can I?
Now that, I believe, is the question.
