Kom In I Garderoben custom mtv

Kom In I Garderoben is cool a Swedish site that will automatically generate an MTV-like video from any music file. The site is preloaded with a bunch of sample tunes, but you can actually upload your own MP3 file and watch as the video plays to its beat.

It’s very neat stuff, though it gets boring after a few minutes of repetition. I’m not really sure what this site is all about though, I wish I could understand Swedish :)

Puddle of Enchantment

Puddle Of Mudd - Psycho -

Over the past few days I’ve been appreciating Puddle of Mudd’s last album Famous. I’ve had it when I first came out October of last year, but I’ve never really had the chance to appreciate it as I did now. I mean I love POM but when on my first few listens, “Famous” didn’t really stick. Their sound has sort of changed and I guess that alienated me.

Float Away by Up Dharma Down MP3 Download

I love this new song! I had to search high and low for this, and I’m sharing it with everyone. UDD rules

Get it here.

Listen to it here:

Lyrics:

FLOAT AWAY
Up Dharma Down
McDonald’s Summer Colors of Love

Unusual yet so familiar
Surprising face I’ve never seen such glow
There is not one minute of refraction
You are my positive distraction

Level headedness versus heady bliss
What would you choose
Unbelievably, this feels so good to me
I’ve given myself away now

Taking leaps, clouds at my feet
Love makes you try anything once
Hues are better understood
But this is just a little too good

I am left believing, I thank you now for giving
Me the stars to chase around
There’s no going back
I’ve fallen pretty bad
This is the sound of being found

Taking leaps clouds at my feet
Love makes you try anything once
You and I float away
Tracing the seas

Pa-pa-ra-pa-pa… Love Ko ‘To

Kyla, Philippines’ flop artist?

Some people have too much time on their hands, and stiLLWD is one of them. He does a very good job at making a point though: Kyla may be the definitive “semplang” (flop) queen of the Philippines.

Have fun with the videos!

Philippines’ best & worst version of Rihanna’s “Umbrella”:

Can’t get enough chill

It has come to my attention that I have been listening to way too much Jack Johnson. Looking at my Last.FM profile, I am very close to scrobbling my 1,000 Jack Johnson track:

Dennison’s Top Artists on Last.FM

I did some simple math. On my 1,000th play, assuming the playtime for each scrobble averages at 3 minutes, I would have played a total of 3,000 minutes. Divided by 60 that’s 50 hours total or 4 days 4 nights and 4 hours of non-stop playing. It doesn’t sound so much anymore when you place it in that context.

But still, you gotta love Jack especially with his new album Sleep Through The Static.

“Recorded using 100% solar energy, printed on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper, and carrying the 1% For The Planet logo.”

Awesome.

  • Dreaming of running my own nightclub

San Diego moonstone lounge at the Hard Rock hotel

Although it’s no long my style to go clubbing and have a nightlife, I have always had a special interest in nightclubs. I would like to run my own join some day. My friend Johann used to run one. We were both into the same types of music (electronica - techno, trance, house) and he would DJ in his club and it looked like tons of fun.

Those were the days. I must admit I miss my college days when we would party almost every night and come to class the next day with a heavy hangover. I’ve been to Hard Rock more than I could count, although I have never been to the famous San Diego moonstone lounge at the Hard Rock hotel. Maybe I should aim for the clubbing business? I have always wanted to have a restaurant as well. For starters, I will have to choose one. There are pros and cons. I already have two food stalls and at this stage I am trying to envision the path that I should take.

Whatever happens, I’ll definitely be in the food business for a while.

Radiohead is just too awesome. What time scale is this on? 15/8? It takes real skill to play, even Phil (the drummer) can be seen counting from time to time to keep up with the beat.

    Best albums of 2007

2007 was a great year for the music industry, with good releases left and right, a resurgence of supposedly retired musicians, and awesome albums from the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Kid Rock, and Avril Lavigne. Anyway, without further ado, here is my own personal list of top albums released in 2007:

I was originally planning to do a writeup of each album, but music, like art, is very personal and the best ones definitely need no explaining.

While I realize that most of the albums listed are rock albums, it should be noted that there were many great releases in all genres by artists like Tori Amos, Rihanna, Norah Jones, KMFDM, Paul Van Dyk, Chemical Brothers, Atreyu, Cartel, T-Pain, 50 Cent, Motion City Soundtrack, Foo Fighters, Rascal Flatts, Marily Manson, Mandy Moore, The Eagles, Serj Tankian, Amy Winehouse, just to name a few. I restricted my list to albums which I felt were very well made.

Check out my Last.FM profile to see what I’m currently playing.

    Radiohead - In Rainbows

After four years of silence Readiohead has finally released their 7th album, In Rainbows, as a name-your-price download on their website.

In terms of digital income, we’ve made more money out of this record than out of all the other Radiohead albums put together, forever — in terms of anything on the Net. And that’s nuts. It’s partly due to the fact that EMI wasn’t giving us any money for digital sales. All the contracts signed in a certain era have none of that stuff.

Rolling Stone - The Immortals cover

The second he sang the opening lines — “Close your eyes, and I’ll kiss you” — the crowd’s reaction was so intense that it all but drowned the song out … I understood in that moment one of the reasons why the Beatles had to stop performing. The songs weren’t theirs anymore. They were everybody’s.

    Elvis Costello on The Beatles

Celebrating the “fiftieth anniversary of rock” (so rock was “invented” in uh, 1957? duh!), Rolling Stone magazine is running a special issue listing the top 50 (rock and roll) artists of all time, with a write-up on each artist by a fellow artist who may have worked with them in the past.

    Here’s that list:
