A day in the life of an audio visual junkie

One really unique photography style that I’ve run into in the past is tilt-shift photography. Basically this involves tilting the lens of the camera so that focus is applied on a certain area of the view frame. When applied to a large scene you get a panoramic effect equivalent to that of an aerial shots or miniature models.

As a kid I really enjoyed looking at my dad’s Madurodam catalog and I have always been amazed by the level of detail provided on such small scales.
Here’s a a good, short article on it as well as an NY Times featurette.

Awesome gallery of modern designs. Mostly glamour shots + ornaments + “more is more” if you’re into that kind of thing.

As I was going through my feed reader today I noticed that the Philippines was mentioned in two online comics that I was subscribed to. It’s probably just a coincidence, a funny one though. Just click on the thumbnails to view the full comic.
First we have Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! It talks about Romeo Jalosjos winning a reelection in Zamboanga Del Norte from jail.
Next we have Wizard of Id. I have absolutely no idea what it means.
Sugoii sugoii.

It seems that the Wachowski brothers of Matrix fame is coming up with something new to shock the movie world.

Remember when they invented bullet time ™? This time, they are coming up with an entire film where everything is always in focus. If my understanding is correct then this means that there will be no cuts at all. I do not know how they’re going to change from one scene to another or from one angle to another, but I got very very excited upon hearing this. They already “revolutionized” the movie industry when they came up with bullet time ™ so I am sure they can come up with some clever / ingenious way of pulling something like this off.

Yes! Korn’s 8th album has finally arrived, and I’m loving it! It seems that they are becoming more and more experimental as time goes by and this albums seems to be a step towards that direction. There so much atmosphere in this new album that many of its tracks can almost be placed in the electronica / industrial genre if not for the heavy vocals.
