Video: Exercise to reduce stress

I have a hard time dealing with stress. It’s become so bad that over the past few weeks stress has prevented me from getting a good night’s sleep. Sometimes I would fall asleep at 5 A.M. Sometimes I do not get any sleep at all. It’s past 4 A.M. as I’m writing this.

I found this video which will hopefully help me reduce stress and feel more relaxed. I shall try it out and post my results here.

The awesome thing about this stress reducing exercise is that it only takes a minute or two and it is very easy to do. I’m off to try it out now. I hope it works for me, wish me luck!

Update (08/21/2009): I have been doing the exercise regularly for the past few days. The girl in the video makes it seem easy but it’s actually a lot harder to do, especially if your body isn’t really that flexible, like me. LOL. It really helps, though! I always feel much more relaxed afterwards. I have been doing this in combination with other techniques such as meditation and better time management. As a result, I am now sleeping and waking up earlier. I’m still far away from my goal of being able to fall asleep on demand – something that I used to be able to do until a few years ago when I switched jobs, but I think I’m off to a good start!

Awww…sorry to hear about your lack of sleep due to stress. so how did that exercise go? Did it help? I hate not getting any sleep, it makes me cranky the following day. But I also can’t work out at night because it gets me so pumped up that I just have too much energy and can’t fall asleep.
