Was Willie Revillame being rude to Cory Aquino?

Host of television show Wowowee Mr. Willie Revillame requested to the controller to remove the frame showing ABS-CBN’s live coverage of President Cory Aquino’s funeral cortege. Although he spoke in a controlled tone, he did this on air and his manner of request is questionable. This resulted in the anger of many Filipinos.

Here is a transcript of what he said (in Tagalog):

“Kung ganyan, pakita na lang natin ‘yan. Kasi nagsasaya kami dito, tapos… Masakit sa akin ‘yan, e. Nagsasalita ako dito… ‘yan, please. Sana maintindihan n’yo. Nagsasaya kami dito, papakita n’yo sa amin yun ang… di ba? Hindi tama, e. Okey? Hindi ba?

Pangit! Hindi ho maganda sa atin. Nagsasalita, ipinapakita yung kabaong ni Tita Cory, hindi ba? Papano kami makapagsasaya, nahihirapan kami? I’m sorry ho, ha. Pero ako, totoo ako, e. ‘Wag n’yo akong pagagalitan, kasi totoo ang gusto kong malaman…

Pagkatapos ng show, ipakita n’yo ang gusto n’yong palabas. Kasi itong Wowowee, gusto ko… Hindi ba, at alam din ni Tita Cory ‘yan dahil napasaya rin siya ng show na ito na laging masaya dito, ok?”

Personally, I think Willie Revillame has all the right to make a request because after all Wowowee is his show. However, I think he should have been more cautious and he should have made the request off the air. By saying the things he said on air, he only earned the ire of many Filipinos who love and adore President Cory Aquino.

Ive known Willie as an arrogant in his words.I never liked him as a person except of being a host that gives joy to some of our less fortunate fellow countrymen.I myself is very grateful to what our late pres Aquino have had given back to us.The future with freedom that we can pass to our children and to our children’s children.But let us be broadminded on what willie did.He did that with an honest reason but only misunderstood because of his rude way.

maybe its just a reminder for willie.He maybe never noticed that he is not now showing humhumility,parang ang taas na ng tingin nya sa sarili nya.esp minsan kung sabihin nyang hindi xa nttakot na masesante sa show,parang tsina challenge nya ang mga superiors nya..Being true to words onlys proves to your own actions.minsan d nya alam pinaphiya na nya ang mga kasama nya s show,dancers,staff,kala mo kng sino mgslita,he is supposed to do it off cam.he shld nt tk for granted those small ppol who r giving commnts to him,for these myt be a great help to his personality.God bls the man who r truly humble but He resisted the proud

willie is one if the rudest people on the face of this earth.. he makes discriminating remarks to less fortunate people on wowowee and thinks of himself as if he has the most power anyone could ever have, he thinks he could do and say anything he wants to just because hesfamous and rich well this proves him wrong esp to disrespect our late president cory Aquino!!!

isa sa mga magaling at marangal na presidente si dating pangulong Cory Aquino. sana magkaroon pa ng presidente na katulad niya.
