MANILA, Philippines – Bosch, the inventor of the world’s first electric rotary and demolition hammer with pneumatic impact mechanism, celebrates 80 years of breakthrough innovation in drilling and chiseling. Since the launch of the first Bosch hammer in 1932, Bosch hammers have contributed greatly to the construction and renovation of major structures worldwide. Today, the comprehensive Bosch Hammer Range continues to set worldwide standards and offer professionals superior working experience and efficiency.
Bosch Hammer milestones
In 1932, Bosch launched the EH 600 Professional, the first demolition hammer with rotary hammer mechanism, to the global market. Four decades later, Bosch built an adjustable overload clutch on the 11 kg hammer, and invented the SDS-plus tool holder. In the 1980s Bosch built two world firsts, the UBH 2-14 SE Professional, the first 2 kg hammer, and the GBH 24 V Professional, the first cordless rotary hammer.
In 1997, Bosch introduced the first hammer with turbo power for faster removal rate, shortly before it marked its 10 millionth Bosch SDS-plus hammer sold in the global market. In 2001, Bosch invented the first hammer with Vibration Control and celebrated its 1 millionth SDS-max hammer.
Bosch pushed the envelope further when it developed the GBH 36 V-LI Professional, the first cordless rotary hammer with the power of a corded one, in 2006; the GSH 16 V-LI Professional, which has the highest removal rate in the 16 kg class, in 2007; and the GSH 27 VC Professional, the world’s most powerful electric breaker, in 2010. Its most recent innovation is the GBH 2-28 DFV Professional, which has been recognized as the best Bosch 2 kg hammer ever developed.
“Most if not all of the Bosch Hammer innovations have established themselves as worldwide standards in hammer engineering,” said William Go, Country Sales Director, Power Tools division, Robert Bosch Inc. (Philippines). “In the first half of this year, the local Power Tools division posted a strong double-digit sales growth, with more than 10,000 Bosch Hammers sold nationwide. Bosch will always be one step ahead in hammer innovation.”
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Bosch Hammers, Bosch will be participating in the upcoming Cebu Belmont Hammer Roadshow on August 22-24 in Cebu City.
