MANILA, Philippines – Skil, one of the most recognized brands in the power tool industry, is launching its latest philanthropic endeavor called Paint the Town Red. As a testament to the brand’s commitment to delivering precision, power and optimum performance to the mainstream audience, Paint the Town Red is set to construct 40 basketball half-courts in 40 selected barangays nationwide, reflecting Filipinos’ love for basketball.
The campaign will kick-off the first of eight roadshows on October 19 at Bangkal Barangay Hall, Bangkal, Makati City, where Honorable Makati Mayor Junjun Binay will deliver a special message to an expected 100 barangay residents and guests. Bosch Country Sales Director William Go, Skil Brand Manager Martin Valenzuela, Barangay Chairman Fermin Eusebio and champion basketball coach and Skil brand ambassador Norman Black will also grace the event to formally turnover the half-court to barangay officials.
To strengthen its relationship with local communities, Skil will donate power tools to members of the barangay and conduct hands-on training workshops for participants who want to learn how to use power tools for various livelihood projects. This skills training activity is part of the company’s initiative to contribute to the evolving Philippine economy.
“Skil is committed to the people, be it the high-level professional, the weekend hobbyist or the neighborhood carpenter. Our campaign Paint the Town Red does more than just build half-courts for communities to play basketball, but it provides an avenue through which we are able to help those in the grassroots level find alternative means of livelihood,” said Valenzuela.
To complement the campaign are fun and exciting activities for members of the community, such as power tool challenges, shoot out contests, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Raffle prizes will also be given to lucky winners onsite.
After the turnover in Bangkal, Makati, Skil will take Paint the Town Red on the ground and on the road with stopovers in Manila and Cebu. For more information, follow Bosch on Twitter (@BoschPH).
