The Philippines is emerging as one of the top markets for the personal computer.
This is according to Chris Papa, Country Manager for Dell Philippines. Speaking at the press launch of the Dell Precision M3800 and Dell PowerEdge T20 held in Taguig City, Chris revealed that the country has grown to become among the top 10 major markets for desktop and laptop computers. This is despite facing heavy competition from the mobile business, thanks to the quick adoption of smartphones and tablets over the last few years.
Quite comforting news especially for a technology company like Dell to be able to gain much support in a heavily mobilized country like the Philippines.
Dell does much to give back and thank the society for all the support. Just last year the Texas-based firm donated as much as 400,000 USD worth of assistance to victims of Typhoon Yolanda (international code Haiyan).
At the press event, the company showcased its two latest offerings both aimed at business users: the Dell Precision M3800 and the Dell PowerEdge T20.
Like all Dell Products, they come with a warranty and is backed by Dell on-site support, which launched back in 2012. Since its introduction in the Philippines, the on-site support team has managed to serve Dell customers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
When asked about the incident rate, Chris Papa was happy to report that the onsite support team has maintained a fail incident rate of only 1-2 percent of all support incidents. This refers to support requests where technicians need to perform an onsite visit. Chris added that the onsite support team is internal to Dell.
