OPM has a new sweetheart in town, and her name is Emmanuelle Vera. Also known to her friends and relatives as “Elle” (e-lee) or “Emman” (e-man), she is a songwriter at heart having started when she was barely in high school. Her self-titled debut album features seven feel-good tracks filled with groovy beats and positive vibes.

Having spent most of her life abroad she had to lean and practice her Tagalog. She is the eldest of four siblings, and owes her unique look to a mix of Filipino, German, and Russian heritage.

Four years in the making, the album is a dream come true for Emmanuelle. From the time of her audition she kept herself busy with various acting projects. She appeared at the musical series “Idol” with Coco Martin and Sarah Geronimo, the teen show “Shoutout!” and in the television series “100 days to Heaven”.

Surprisingly despite her busy schedule she still finds time for studies, although she confesses that she sometimes ends up pulling all-nighters.

Music has always been Emmanuelle’s passion. Now that she has finally realized that dream she hopes to inspire young people and make them happy with her music. She reveals that during the process her album underwent a lot of changes. Despite this there is no shortage of material as she has written over 70 songs so far.

Emmanuelle’s debut album contains seven tracks, a lucky number in Biblical terms. Interestingly the seven can be broken down into three English tracks, three Filipino tracks, and one cover.

“It’s got a lot of my heart, a lot of hard work, a lot of emotions,” says Emmanuelle, describing her album.

Out of the seven her favorite track is “Dear Diary”.

“It was the first song I ever wrote so I have a really deep connection with it,” shares Emmanuelle. She added saying, “I wrote it the night before ending an unhealthy relationship that I knew I had to get out of.” She realizes that her music was written at a time when she was still young, and describes her music as being carefree and happy.

The third track, “Tonight” was written when she was 13 years old. Emmanuelle wrote it with her bestfriend “at a sleepover 13 about a guy that I really liked but was not there”.

“Back then I didn’t even understand why I was writing songs,” shares Emmanuelle. It has been four years since then. Emmanuelle is now preparing to begin her college education at the Ateneo de Manila University.

The album’s carrier single “”Happy”, a feel-good pop tune, was written by Emmanuelle when she was just 14 years old.

“The inspiration for Happy? Well, one time, my best friend brought me home,” she says. “So, we tried to capture that in the music video with Ivan Dorschner.”

Among the local artists, Emmanuelle draws inspiration from Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino.  She feels very fortunate to be working with her under Cornerstone Talent Management Center. They even have collaborated in one of the tracks, entitled “Manong Guard”. It is the fourth track in the album and tells the story of love in the academe. In the song, the girl falls for a fellow student, which she reveals to the campus security guard.

The last track in the album, “God Gave Me You”, is a cover song of the original by Bryan White. With a Biblical name like Emmanuelle, it only seems a fitting final track to one solid album.

At a time when the top 40 is dominated by loud, bass-driven party beats with indulgent and often suggestive lyrics, Emmanuelle’s music is a breath of fresh air.

Young, carefree, and happy music

Emmanuelle’s debut album retails at only 150 pesos, which averages to 20 pesos per song. Give yourself a treat and grab a copy today!

Emmanuelle’s dream comes true

OPM’s newest sweetheart Emmanuelle has undeniably what it takes to make it to this Industry– enchanting singing voice, pretty face, innate songwriting talent. However, unknown to many, this young singer worked very hard to finally fulfill her dreams of having her own album – Universal Records’ latest release Emmanuelle.

“From the first time I auditioned in front of executives of Universal, it took me around four years to finally have my album released,” shares Emmanuelle. “Upon the advise of my management Cornerstone and the label, I had to undergo series of voice lessons, learn to play instruments, write better songs, and pratice my tagalog.”

These sacrifices, according to Emmanuelle, make this album extra special. Aside from being her first release, she feels that a lot of stories are enveloped in this album.

The album’s carrier single Happy, a feel-good pop tune, was written by Emmanuelle when she was just 14 years old.

“The inspiration for Happy? Well, one time, my best friend brought me home,” she says. “So, we tried to capture that in the music video with Ivan Dorschner.”

Aside from Happy, Emmanuelle penned songs like Dear Diary, and Tonight. She also interpreted songs of Ito Rapadas (Sandali Lang) and Jude Gitamondoc (Sarap Mabuhay). She also has her rendition of the hit ballad God Gave Me You.

Aside from being a gifted singer and songwriter, Emmanuelle is also a promising guitar player.

Pop Rock Princess Yeng Constantino has a special duet with Emmanuelle in the album – Manong Guard.

“Masaya talaga ako na nakasama ako sa album na ‘to,” admits Yeng. “I am extremely happy that Emmanuelle has been given this chance to record some songs that she wrote herself – dun sa aspect na yun, pareho kaming singer-songwriter.”
