HP unveils APJ converged cloud solutions

MANILA, Philippines – HP today announced new HP Converged Cloud solutions specifically for organizations in Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) to facilitate cloud adoption and simplify deployment to enhance business innovation and agility.

Enterprises in APJ are embracing cloud computing to keep pace with changing business demands. According to recent research conducted on behalf of HP, the top drivers of cloud adoption are rapid application development (53 percent), enhanced agility to respond to market changes (29 percent) and reduced cost of operations (18 percent). However, if not deployed correctly private cloud delivery models can create complexity, risk and added cost through vendor lock-in.

HP Converged Cloud is the industry’s first hybrid delivery approach and solution portfolio based on a common architecture that spans private, managed and public clouds as well as traditional IT.  New HP Converged Cloud offerings for APJ include HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit and HP CloudSystem Solutions that enable chief information officers to quickly embrace these delivery models without adding complexity and risk to their environments.

The new offerings are built on HP CloudSystem, a core element of the HP Converged Cloud portfolio that provides a complete, integrated and open platform that enables enterprises and service providers to build and manage services across private, managed and public cloud environments.

A complete and integrated solution provides a quick start to the cloud

The new HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit provides a simple path to creating a tailored, pre-configured cloud infrastructure that meets specific business needs.  After deploying the starter kit, clients can provision infrastructure and applications for physical and virtual environments in just minutes. With built-in infrastructure life-cycle management, clients realize increased business agility and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 56 percent(2).

Based on HP Converged Infrastructure and Cloud Service Automation, HP CloudSystem –the foundation for the kit – offers clients a choice of operating systems and hypervisors. The kit also integrates HP 3PAR F-Class storage arrays to increase agility and efficiency.  Additional hardware, hypervisor licenses, HP CloudStart Solution Services, HP CloudSystem Enablement Services and HP Financial Services can be added to create a complete solution that suits each client’s needs.

HP CloudSystem Solutions reduce deployment time for applications in the cloud

According to an HP-commissioned study by IDG Research, more than half (57 percent) of the respondents indicated they needed to reduce the time to provision a new application from months to weeks to yield significant business benefits. Twenty-one percent said they need to reduce new application delivery time from weeks to days.

New HP CloudSystem Solutions combine HP CloudSystem Matrix, industry-leading applications and HP Cloud Maps to deliver the fastest path to cloud enablement for applications on HP Converged Infrastructure. These pre-configured, integrated solutions are based on development, testing and relationships with independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators and clients.

The new solutions leverage the automated provisioning and service catalog delivery capabilities of HP Cloud Maps to enable clients to shave weeks off the process of architecting cloud services.

Organizations transitioning to hybrid environments can leverage the solutions to implement cloud services in private cloud environments.  Telecommunications service providers can leverage the solutions to generate new lines of revenue by providing Software-as-a-Service offerings.

The new HP CloudSystem Solutions are based on industry- and workload-specific applications that are critical for improving agility, speeding time to market and driving innovation.

The expanded HP portfolio includes industry specific solutions including:

The expanded HP portfolio also offers workload-specific solutions based on applications from leading ISVs. These include global partners such as Microsoft, RedHat and SAP, as well as APJ partners such as HannuriDigital and TMax Soft.  These solutions address workloads vital to a broad range of businesses, including email, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management and business intelligence.

“Success depends on an organizations’ ability to rapidly respond to changing market and customer demands,” said Aman Dokania, vice president and general manager, Cloud Solutions, Enterprise Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan. “HP’s unique approach of proactively engaging with partners to build an ecosystem is key to speeding our clients’ shift to hybrid cloud models that provide the agility they need to innovate.”

The HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit and HP CloudSystem Solutions are based on HP Converged Infrastructure architecture. HP Converged Infrastructure integrates servers, storage, networking, security and management to automate the infrastructure-to-application lifecycle for hybrid service delivery management.
