Skygo King returns as most affordable business motorcycle in the Philippines

Skygo King 2012

Skygo Philippines has relaunched its flagship product, the Skygo KING, aimed at providing the local market with affordable, quality business-class motorcycles. Retailing at only 43,000 PHP (cash), the King is aimed at the “pantra” or the pantrabaho market. It even comes with free DTI-approved helmets!

At the press conference held earlier today, Skygo Philippines Marketing Manager Michael Rene L. Aquino explained that the competitive pricing is part of the company’s strategy to take the Philippine market by storm. The Skygo King comes with sidecar-ready attachments, making it very easy for tricycle owners to outfit their units for business.

With 57 branches nationwide, Skygo Philippines aims to grow to 100 branches by 2013. Skygo Philippines Regional Head Ramon B.Santos repeatedly stressed the company’s strict dedication to quality – something which he believes will give them a competitive edge over the big four – namely, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

The winning combination of competitive pricing and quality is what truly makes the Skygo King the crowning glory of motorcycle royalty. Full press release follows.

Skygo Marketing Corporation, an All-Filipino company partnered with Lifan, the No. 1 motorcycle company in China, has relaunched its new-look  KING, Skygo’s premiere business model that is the fastest selling model in the PANTRA (pantrabaho) market.

The new KING has a new 150cc engine built for power (bore stroke of 61.0 x 49.5 mm, maximum torque of 10 Nm @ 7,500 rpm), combined with speed (5th gear designed transmission gearing) but with less fuel consumption (2 liters/100 km or 47.62 km/1 liter).

It has lesser plastic parts accessories for lesser worries of accessories breakages, an enhanced street-bike fuel tank design for better leg grip, a fuel tank that can hold up to 12 liters of fuel (2 liters reserve), a heavy duty designed front shock absorber that responds very well to rough terrain and a well-built rear carrier that has a better capacity to carry heavy weights.

Looks-wise, the KING has an aerodynamic headlight design for a more classy look, a more comfortable seat cushion suited for any individual size or build and an overall sleeker look.

Built to run and function like a work-horse, the Skygo best seller has a side car-ready provision for side-car attachment for business or motor transport purposes.

Selling at a Spot Cash Price of P43,000 and up to P500 rebate monthly for installment, the Skygo KING is one of the most affordable motorcycles in the market.

“The KING and Skygo motorcycles are born to serve. With the growing demand for motorcycles to service delivery outlets and ferry passengers inroad and in remote areas, we are filling a need that can translate into brisker business and  more vibrant local markets nationwide. The rise in face to face and delivery transactions brought about by online business has been very significant ,” said Michael Aquino, Marketing and Brand Manager, Skygo Marketing Corporation.

The Philippine motorcycle industry has been one of the fastest growing industries in the country with an annual growth rate of over 20% for the past eight years, Aquino noted. Skygo handles all aspects of the preparation, distribution and sale of its motorcycles. It has its own state of the art assembly plant that takes charge of product assembly, warehousing, logistics, distribution, quality control, R&D and retailing.

“After more than a decade in the Philippines, we have been getting good feedback about our motorcycle’s engine strength, our parts durability and modern-day design,” added Aquino.

Besides The KING, Skygo also has other models named Archer, Royale, Rajah and Wizard – the most sellable for entrepreneurial business.

SkyGo currently has a total of 57 branches nationwide and aims to have 100 branches by 2013.
